the rules
A race is 30 days and 42.195 km. The course, the pacers and every bib are drawn by the contract. Race 1 starts on the hour the token is named; each race after starts the moment the last one closes.
the bib
- A bib costs 1,000 $RUN. 80% goes into the race's purse; 20% is burned.
- One bib per wallet per race. Your first run happens in the same transaction.
- A bib is a token. It can be sold or moved, and whoever holds it runs it.
running
- Once per race day (days turn over 24 hours after the gun, every 24 hours): 1,500 m.
- Plus 150 m for every runner drafting with you — everyone in your kilometre and the kilometre ahead, up to eight (+1,200 m). Break away into empty road and you run alone.
- Three pacers run the course at fixed speeds from the gun and draft with you like anyone else: the rabbit (2,600 m a day), the pacer (2,000) and the broom (1,407 — it reaches the finish exactly as day 30 ends).
- Alone, you finish in 29 runs. A full pack does it in 16.
the purse
- The first bib past 10K, past halfway and past 30K each takes 5% of the purse, in the transaction that crosses.
- When day 30 ends the race closes: 40% of the purse to 1st, 20% to 2nd, 10% to 3rd — finishers first, in the order they crossed; then whoever is furthest along.
- The rest is shared equally by every bib that finished; each claims its share. If nobody finished, the rest is burned.
- The podium is paid by the first bib of the next race, or by anybody who presses the button.
what the contract cannot do
Hold ETH, pay the purse to anyone but the checkpoints, the podium and the finishers, take a royalty, pause, or upgrade. The owner key names the token once — which fires the gun — and is inert forever after. Unaudited.
